A national outreach initiative born from the collaboration between Altair Astronomy and Unicars, merging space science education with social responsibility.

Our goal is to make space and astronomy accessible to everyone, through charity and public events, interactive astronomy nights, engaging workshops, digital media, and educational content tailored for all ages.
​
But this project is about more than just stars. It’s about impact. Every activity we organize is either free of charge or entirely non-profit, with 100% of net proceeds going to charitable causes across Cyprus.
​
Whether it’s observing Saturn through a telescope, learning about light pollution in a hands-on workshop, or watching a short video online, every moment supports both curiosity and community.

EVENTS
Altair Astronomy organizes a wide range of events, designed to bring the universe closer to people of all ages. From hands-on experiences under the stars to thought-provoking talks and presentations, our events aim to educate, inspire, and spark curiosity in every corner of Cyprus, all for a good cause.

Our signature Astronomy Nights are immersive stargazing experiences where the public can observe celestial objects through telescopes, guided by our team of astronomers. These events feature interactive presentations on topics like constellations, the solar system, and space exploration.

In addition, we host engaging presentations and lectures tailored for schools, organizations, and the general public, bringing the universe closer through captivating visuals, appealing storytelling, and a passion for astronomy and space science education.
WORKSHOPS
As part of Project Altair, we’re launching a series of educational workshops designed to dive deeper into astronomy and space science in an interactive and engaging way.

Between May and August 2025, we will host four themed workshop series, one each month, covering a variety of topics tailored to different age groups and experience levels. Each workshop consists of four two-hour sessions, combining accessible theory, creative activities, and real observational practice under the night sky.
​
Whether you're a young student curious about the basics of space, a teenager exploring astronomy, or someone eager to understand the universe’s big questions, there's a session built just for you. Our workshops aim to turn curiosity into confidence, and wonder into knowledge.
DIGITAL MEDIA
Through a strong online presence, Project Altair creates a continuous learning journey that lives on your screen. From short-form videos and podcasts to articles and animations, our digital content is designed to spark curiosity and make space science approachable for everyone.

Each week, we release a variety of content on our social media platforms and website, including space news updates, fun explainers, and interactive Q&As. Our podcast, "Reach for the Stars", features inspiring stories and expert insights from scientists, engineers, and space communicators. We also share original articles, astrophotography, and engaging educational videos that bring the universe into classrooms, homes, and everyday conversations.
